Go Fishing Like A Local
is a very unique tour that we
can lead you into the inner life for the local fishing
people. With your curiousness to discover, you will be
very surprised and realized how interesting and hard
life local fisherman is by learning how to lift the big
fishing net out of the water, how to use the little
basket boat locally called “THÚNG CHAI” to get fish out
of the net and how to spread the unique fishing net
named “RO” into a professional circle to catch fish and
many kinds of samples.

a memorable holiday by your participation into the
fisherman daily work, you can and will have a unique and
exciting good experience when you are coming to visit
Hoi An town.
8am: We will leave the hotel by bicycle and cycle over
small country lanes to Cam Thanh, a fishing village next
to the flooded coconut palm forest. Along the way we can
enjoy the beautiful view of the Vietnamese countryside
with its rice fields, water buffaloes, birds and the
friendly local population.
Arriving at Cam Thanh village we will meet our
host Mr Manh, a local fisherman, who will welcome us at
his house with refreshing drinks. After a short rest we
will explore Cam Thanh, learn about its history of the
Underwater Palm Forest which served as a hidding place
for Viet Cong soldiers during the American war.
Having explored Cam Thanh village our host will
invite us on board his boat to take us on the river and
teach us the local fishing techniques. After his
demonstration we will try our luck at catching a fish
ourselves.
After our fishing trip we will change the
fishing boat for typical basket boats and head into the
underwater palm forest where we will have the
opportunity to fish for crabs.
Returning from our discovery trip in the palm
forest our host and his family will invite us to help
them with cooking typical local dishes for our lunch.
We will enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch with
our host family after which they will treat us on some
beautiful Vietnamese songs accompanied by music made
with traditional instruments from their area.
After lunch and music it is time for us to say
goodbye to Mr Manh and his family and return by bicycle
to the hotel.
2 pm: Arrival at the hotel and the end of our tour.
